Like many past and present Baltimore residents, a visit to http://lexingtonmarket.com downtown is etched in memory.
I remember bus rides on the #10 from Highlandtown with my grandparents that would take us to Howard Street for shopping at the three H’s: Hutzler’s, Hochschild’s and Hecht’s. Many of those excursions ended up at Lexington Market for lunch.
The old “East Market” building is slated for redevelopment and a new facility began construction in 2020 and opened last year.
I took the light rail down to the new market this week to see it for myself and support some local vendors.
