A pedestrian is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle on Interstate 35 late Saturday night, according to police. The incident, which occurred around 9:40 p.m. near the 51st Street and U.S. 290 interchange, is under investigation as authorities work to determine the involvement of two vehicles that stopped at the scene.




A reminder that three of the four southbound main lanes of U.S. 183 will be closed from Hunters Chase Drive/Oceanaire Boulevard to Riata Trace Parkway/Pavilion Boulevard until midnight tonight.

After the severe storms that hit the Austin area on May 28, Austin Wildlife Rescue took in hundreds of animals.


The nonprofit organization is expanding their weekend donation intake program to help support the influx of animals.
People wishing to help with the cause are asked to bring donations to the AWR intake center at 5401 E Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Austin, TX 78721.
The organization says their top produce picks are sweet potatoes, apples, berries, bananas, grapes, romaine lettuce and kale.
Crews from Austin Resource Recovery will likely be clearing storm debris from neighborhood streets until the end of June. So far, they have collected more than 950 tons of tree limbs and leaves since the May 28th storms.

Austin police continue to investigate after a person was found dead north of the city late Friday night after a 911 caller asked for help and then hung up.
The call came in around 10:55 p.m. with an address in the 9800 block of Halifax Drive, which is near Dessau Road and East Runberg Lane.
