A second case of measles in Williamson County was confirmed in a Leander resident Tuesday, according to state health officials.

Meanwhile, a bill approved by state lawmakers and sent to Republican Gov. Greg Abbott would make it significantly easier for parents to enroll their children in school without standard vaccinations for diseases such as measles, whooping cough, polio and hepatitis A and B.
The Uhland Police Department in Hays County says an 18-year-old has been taken into custody and charged with murder in connection to a shooting death of another 18-year-old during a graduation party.

The suspect is 18-year-old Chad Lee-Gardner.

The victim, Andrew Farias, graduated high school the day before.
Hundreds of Austin Energy customers briefly lost power overnight after a car crashed into a utility pole.


All but a small handful of residents in the area have had their power restored.

Round Rock Police say officers cleared the scene of a deadly crash just before midnight Tuesday evening.

There has been no other information released at this time.
A crash near the Samsung factory in Williamson County Tuesday evening caused a section FM 973 to shut down.

The Williamson County sheriff’s office is investigating a suspected murder-suicide, officials said Tuesday.
