One man is dead after a shooting at an apartment complex in the 1300 block of South Pleasant Valley Road Monday afternoon. Authorities found a man, described as Hispanic and in his forties. Life-saving attempts were made by first responders, but the man was pronounced dead.
Early Monday morning, police were alerted to an injured woman in an alley near East 6th Street and Neches Avenue. She had been beaten after an altercation with a man after she allegedly tried to rob him of his drugs.
A man who said she robbed him at knifepoint struck her with a metal rod, according to police and was taken in for questioning. (Austin American-Statesman)
