My second Sunday in Texas.
I’m heading back to a local sports bar today for the Bengals/Titans game, the same place I’ll be for the Orioles’ postseason run.
Can’t say I’m a converted Longhorns fan, but I saw some of what their running back Jonathon Brooks did yesterday in their thumping of Kansas at Darrell K. Royal Memorial Stadium. Exciting stuff. This Texas team is rolling.

Tomorrow brings another day of getting myself recognized as a legal citizen of Texas. I’m opening a new bank account here and getting my driver’s license switched from Maryland.
It’s been interesting, this process of deleting apps, unsubscribing from newspapers, switching geo-locations, etc. You realize it’s not just your physical life you’re relocating but also your digital life. My social media algorithms are already noticing and reflecting my move.
On a totally different note…a break in the prolonged heat here is on the horizon. After five months of oppressive temperatures in the 90’s and 100’s, a storm system is expected to move through Central Texas by midweek bringing measurable rainfall and substantially cooler temperatures. Next weekend, Austin might see high temps in the 70s.
Just in time for ACL Live.
