Thunderstorms and heavy rain moved into the Central Texas region overnight bringing flash flooding to many areas of Travis and surrounding counties, prompting warnings, road closures and water rescues.

Flooding this morning in the Austin area caused road closures and a water rescue and even necessitated the lifting of floodgates on the Colorado River.
