It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
It just won’t feel like it outside.
Austin nearly broke the high temperature record for December 23 yesterday, with the 81-degree high at the airport falling one degree short of the record of 82.
The weather will revert back to winter Sunday into Monday when a cold front pushes through the region.

In early October, Governor Greg Abbott authorized the federal mobilization of 400 Texas National Guard troops for out-of-state deployment. By October 8, approximately 200 of these guardsmen had arrived in the Chicago area, a move that met significant resistance from Illinois state and local officials.
The deployment faced immediate legal scrutiny. While a federal court subsequently ruled that the troops could not be officially activated, the court did not require them to withdraw from the region at that time.
The situation reached a resolution on November 19, when U.S. Northern Command announced that the 200 troops stationed in Illinois were being demobilized. The remaining 200 guardsmen, who had been staged in Texas, were placed on standby.

The violations specifically concern bets placed on daily fantasy sports (DFS) platforms. While traditional sports betting is prohibited in Texas, DFS remains legal for residents; however, NCAA regulations still restrict student-athletes and staff from participating in these player-performance wagers.
