Austin police were on the scene of a barricade situation in North Austin that began as an aggravated robbery Sunday night around 10:45 p.m. The suspect was located hid in his residence. SWAT team members were on scene until early this mornirg, but it has since ended.


The Uhland Police Department is investigating an early Sunday morning shooting on Rocky Road that left a 17-year-old dead. Officers responded to a report of the shooting, which occurred outside a residence around 1:00 a.m.
San Marcos authorities responded to shots fired early Sunday morning.

Police in San Marcos also announced details of a recent drug bust and arrest.




Police in Cedar Park on Sunday unsuccessfully searched the Town Center area for a suspected shoplifter.

Mustang Ridge police are looking for a female driver who crashed into a piece of construction equipment on Saturday and then ran from the scene




The Texas Department of Public Safety has issued a Silver Alert for John Mendel, 73, who was last seen around 11 a.m. on Sunday. Mendel has a cognitive impairment, and the Austin Police Department is currently searching for him.

Austin firefighters were on the scene of a house fire at 9218 Mystic Oaks Trail Sunday evening just before 5:45 p.m. According to officials, the fire started as a vehicle fire in the garage and spread to the attic. One firefighter was treated by ATCEMS for heat exhaustion.


The District Attorneys of Williamson County and Fort Bend County have jointly filed another lawsuit against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, challenging his new rules that demand extensive performance reports and access to case files, which they argue are unconstitutional and a costly overreach of power.

Google is opening its newest retail store this week at The Domain.

The new Google store in Austin is designed to be a hands-on experience for shoppers, allowing Austinites to explore and interact with Google’s latest innovations. You’ll be able to test out products like Pixel phones and experience features such as Gemini Live, the company’s AI assistant, in action. Huge chunks of hail fell in near Afton in North Texas last night.



A bill proposing a ban on all products containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) has been sent to Governor Greg Abbott’s desk for approval. The Texas Senate recently passed the House’s version of the bill, which the lower chamber had advanced last week.
The Texas House has passed legislation that would mandate all Texas sheriffs to cooperate with federal authorities in enforcing immigration laws. The bill advanced through back-to-back votes on Saturday and Sunday.

A significant overhaul of the embattled Texas Lottery is now closer to becoming law. Late Sunday, the Texas House approved its version of a Senate-backed bill that aims to dismantle the state agency’s governing board and transfer the $8 billion-a-year gaming operation under the purview of another state government branch. San Marcos officials have installed temporary fencing around Rio Vista Park ahead of Memorial Day weekend. The decision came after large crowds last summer made it difficult for the city to enforce park ordinances, including the single-use container ban that went into effect last year. (KUT 90.5)
