“Two deaths would tell you it should be 2,000 cases in Texas.”
Dr. Amesh Adalja of the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, said in a news briefing Tuesday that due to insufficient testing and reluctance to seek diagnosis, the actual size of the measles outbreak in Texas is likely four times greater than official figures suggest.
The spread of the disease continues in Texas.
In Lubbock, 36 cases have been reported.

The Lubbock area now has six to seven confirmed measles cases at a day care facility but more children from that day care center are waiting to be tested.
Measles is now in 22 states and is actually seeing six separate U.S. outbreaks. The Texas outbreak, which has expanded to New Mexico and Oklahoma, makes up the majority of the cases. (Austin American-Statesman)
