Accidents involving pedestrians in the region seem to be on the rise. There were two incidents yesterday alone that killed two people.

Last evening, another vehicle/pedestrian accident occurred in Cedar Park.

This past weekend was a busy one for first responders.
A man accused of the sexual assault and murder of a 25-year-old UT Austin student in 1980 made his first appearance in court yesterday.
Deck Brewer Jr. was identified via DNA evidence as the suspect in the killing of Susan Leigh Wolfe, a nursing student.

Brewer and another person who has not been identified are accused of kidnapping Wolfe, a University of Texas nursing student, on the evening of Jan. 9, 1980, while she was walking home from a friend’s house in the North Loop area.
Wolfe’s body was found the next day in an alley in East Austin. She had been sexually assaulted, strangled and shot in the head. (Austin American-Statesman)
