A day after a jury convicted Austin Police Officer Christopher Taylor, the APD’s new chief expressed dismay at the verdict and said the department would develop a strategic plan to address the issues raised by the verdict.
Austin police officers responded to a call early Sunday morning near Airport Boulevard after a woman called stating that someone had broken into her apartment. SWAT officers were called in and after making contact with the suspect, believed to be an ex-boyfriend of the resident, entered the residence only to find him gone. A search is still underway.
