An end-of-summer heat wave will be affecting much of the region for the next several days. From early to midweek, temperatures can soar to the 100-degree mark across spots in the mid-Atlantic region. Sunday afternoon’s high of 99 degrees at BWI Marshall Airport was the hottest temperature recorded in Baltimore on Sept. 3 of any year, beating the record of 97 in 1898, according to the weather service. (Baltimore Sun)
