Texas dismissed basketball head coach Rodney Terry on Sunday and announced Xavier’s Sean Miller as its new leader.
Terry, who initially served as interim coach in 2022 following Chris Beard’s departure, was awarded the permanent position after leading the Longhorns to the 2023 Elite Eight. Despite consecutive NCAA tournament appearances, Texas failed to advance past the first weekend in either season
“This was a very difficult decision and one that we put a great deal of thought, consideration and discussion into as we evaluated where we are. Coach Terry has led our program in a first-class manner, and we’ve accomplished some great things.” — Texas AD Chris Del Conte
