No. 1 Texas Grinds Out 30-6 Win Over UTSA, Stays Perfect Heading into SEC Play
Arch Manning‘s night wasn’t pretty, but the top-ranked Longhorns didn’t need it to be. Texas leaned on a suffocating defense — led by a first-play Rasheem Biles interception — and just enough offense to put away UTSA 30-6 Saturday night at Royal-Memorial Stadium, closing out non-conference play at 3-0 and setting up a trip to No. 15 Tennessee to open SEC action.

Texas reported 2,687 children to NCMEC as missing in 2024 — one of the highest totals in the nation — and the Texas Center for the Missing documented 31,864 missing persons reports for children statewide that same year.

The mapped acreage remains at 933 acres following more accurate mapping, and containment has increased to 52%.
Saturday, firefighters focused on improving existing containment lines. Fire engines worked around all sides of the fire to locate and extinguish hot spots near those lines.
Two hand crews, each consisting of approximately 20 firefighters, are expected to arrive around midday Sunday. These crews will construct containment line by hand and target hot spots located on hillsides and in rough terrain that cannot easily be reached by fire engines or heavy equipment.
Pockets of vegetation inside the fire’s perimeter continued to burn Saturday evening, and smoke remained visible. This does not necessarily mean that the fire has escaped the containment lines.
Over one million Texans were on the state’s voter suspense list as of March, including local counts in:
- Travis County: 71,004 voters
- Williamson County: 36,050 voters
- Hays County: 12,078 voters
