Fugitives Sought, Captured Across Central Texas: What You Need to Know
Law enforcement agencies across Central Texas are actively pursuing a number of wanted fugitives, while also celebrating recent captures as investigators work to bring criminals to justice throughout the region.
In Austin, authorities are seeking a teenage suspect in connection with a deadly shooting Monday night on East Riverside Drive.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Austin police.
The search for wanted individuals extends well beyond the city limits. In Bexar County, authorities are looking for 65-year-old Anthony Wayne Neasham, currently a person of interest in an ongoing investigation.
Meanwhile, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar on Monday asked for the public’s help locating a man investigators believe dumped a van containing a woman’s decomposing body in a white van. (WOAI-TV)
New Braunfels authorities say a fugitive from a case there has been added to the Texas Department of Safety’s Ten Most Wanted list.

Investigators in Caldwell County recently arrested a felony fugitive who was wanted on multiple active warrants.

For the second time in 24 hours, Austin police are launching a homicide investigation after discovering two people dead Tuesday night. The victims were found at a home near the intersection of East Oltorf Street and Wickersham Road in Southeast Austin.
Travis County deputies are at the scene of a fatal crash on SH 130 near the Tesla Gigafactory.
The Travis County Sheriff’s Office first reported the crash at around 4:50 a.m. this morning. Officials say the crash happened on the southbound side of the highway at the Tesla Road ramp.
One person suffered injuries in a house fire in South Austin Tuesday morning.
Authorities in Travis County are investigating the second in-custody death at the county jail this year. Officials say a 78-year-old inmate died Sunday after suffering a medical emergency, which may have been caused by a gastrointestinal bleed. (Austin American-Statesman)
The Travis County District Attorney’s office has dismissed an assault charge against a man accused of running over slain Caldwell County deputy constable Aaron Armstrong’s arm outside a North Austin club in January.
The performance of Austin and Texas elementary and middle school students on state tests was relatively flat year-over-year in reading and math, according to results released Tuesday by the Texas Education Agency.
Locally and statewide, students made slight gains in some grade levels and small losses in others, continuing a stagnant trend of performance. (KUT 90.5)
