The general runoff election in Travis County ended Saturday with three races finally being decided after candidates in those races failed to declare a winner back in November.

In District 7 City Council race, Mike Siegel has been declared the winner over Gary Bledsoe.
No candidate got a majority, or 50% plus at least one vote, after the ballots were counted in the November general election. The two candidates with the most votes went on to face each other in the runoff.
For an at-large seat of the Austin Independent School District Board of Trustees, Fernando Lucas de Urioste defeated Lindsey Stringer.

The only other race in Travis County was for mayor of Manor. Voters there chose Christopher Harvey over Tricia Campbell.

20,456 voters took part in the runoff, 3.6% of the county’s 568,338 registered voters. (Travis County Clerk)

The Austin Police Department confirmed Saturday a person died during the early morning hours following an incident near Sixth Street and Congress Avenue.
APD said officers responded to a shoot/stab service call at 2:35 a.m. The incident is being investigated as Austin’s 67th homicide of 2024.
