The city of Austin experienced technical issues Sunday with its 9-1-1 system but said last night that operations were “normalizing” yet may not be 100% operational.


The Hays County Sheriff’s Office posted around noon on Facebook that the county was experiencing issues with its 9-1-1 system. Burnet County, Cedar Park, Lago Vista, Lakeway, Llano County and Taylor also experienced disruptions. Some problems included callers and dispatchers having difficulty hearing each other, automatic location not populating and calls being answered by neighboring jurisdictions. (KXAN-TV)
The city confirms emergency calls are still going through and there is not a complete outage of the system.
Hurricane Debby is expected to make landfall in Florida this morning, just north of Tampa.
While the storm may not affect Texas weather-wise, it still affected air travel in the state Sunday.
“According to the flight tracking website Flight Aware, the storm caused more than 1,500 flight cancellations and 3,000 delays nationwide, including about 200 flights in Texas and dozens more delays at airports in Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio.”
