Well, that’s an unexpected turn of events.
The Texas Rangers are headed to Baltimore for the ALDS after sweeping the Tampa Bay Rays in the Wild Card Series. Game 1 is Saturday afternoon at Camden Yards.
I will now be rooting for my O’s in the postseason down here in Texas. Never in a million years did I think I’d be typing that. Not even six months ago.
Tomorrow afternoon I will be decked out in my Orioles gear at my neighborhood sports bar for the game. We’ll see if there are any true Rangers fans in Austin.
By the way, the game is a day game because there is a Billy Joel/Stevie Nicks concert that evening next door at M&T Bank Stadium. The city will have its hands full getting 48,000 people out of the area at the same time a comparable number of people will be flowing in to the football stadium.
Here’s hoping we’ll see a lot of fans being hosed down tomorrow.
