A federal judge is allowing an ex-Baltimore City private school teacher to be at home until his trial on charges connected to sexually abusing a student. Christopher Bendann is charged with five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of possessing child pornography. Baltimore County Police had arrested and charged him with sexual abuse of a minor, second-degree rape, perverted practice and related offenses, but prosecutors dropped that case not long after he was federally indicted. Defense attorneys for former Baltimore City State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby scored major victories Friday in the federal criminal case against her. A judge granted the defense motion to move Mosby’s trial out of Baltimore and another motion to separate her case into two trials: One for perjury, the other for mortgage fraud. (WJZ)
