Maryland health officials, after announcing the state’s first confirmed case of malaria in over four decades, said the infected person did not recently travel outside of the US or other states where malaria is more prevalent. They did not specify the exact location of the malaria case except to say it was someone from the National Capitol Region. (Anne Arundel Daily Voice)
