Acting Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley was formally nominated before the City Council last night with a confirmation soon to follow. Worley succeeds Michael Harrison in the position.

There was no national search for Harrison’s replacement which has some, like the NAACP, concerned. The council’s oversight committee will hold a confirmation hearing for acting commissioner Worley on August 15. If approved by the committee, Worley would then face a vote from the full 15-member council. (WBFF)
