Austin’s seventh homicide of the year occurred Saturday afternoon near the UT Austin campus.
A person of interest was detained at the scene.
ATCEMS responded to a crash Saturday between a car and motorcycle that left one person in critical condition.
Two people died in separate accidents in the area within the past 24 hours.
And early this morning, an accident in Northeast Austin killed one person and injured five others.

The Austin Fire Department and Austin-Travis County EMS gathered for a ribbon cutting on the newest station Saturday.
Residents returned home Saturday night after a fire broke out near Highway 95 in Bastrop County and prompted temporary evacuations. The fire in the LBA community was two acres large and 90% contained.
Parts of Texas are still under threat of wildfires today.
Meanwhile, the Onion Creek Fire in Hays County is now under complete control. The Texas A&M Forest Service provided updates yesterday on several area wildfires.

Despite his arrest on Friday for felony assault against a family or household member, Williamson County authorities have declined to press charges against Xavier Worthy, a Kansas City Chiefs player and former Texas football athlete. Worthy’s arrest stemmed from an incident in Georgetown.

Online furniture retailer Wayfair Inc. is laying off approximately 340 employees in its technology division, and it’s also closing its technology development center in Austin.
